This stage will pass through

In this fourth part, the teams will face the following MTB sections of the raid. They will make the transition in the small village of Pontecesures, witness of the river mouth of the Ulla. Long ago it was an important historical port. As part of its heritage, it is worth mentioning the Roman bridge built in the 1st century, which consists of ten arches that links the provinces of Pontevedra and A Coruña, where the Portuguese pilgrim route to Santiago runs.

Therefore, after departing northbound from Pontecesures, the teams will leave the province of Pontevedra and will go into A Coruña, through the town of Padrón, which also holds an important monumental and gastronomic heritage with the famous Padron’s peppers, often referred as “some are spicy and some are not”.

They will leave Padrón and ascend the final part of the Sierra del Barbanza, and after getting some checkpoints, they will descend to the seashore next to the cities of Noia and Serra de Outes, where the river Tambre flows into the ría of Muros and Noia. From here they will gain altitude little by little, and finally, surrounded mainly by farmlands they will go towards the Dam of the Fervenza and the little village of Baiñas, in the council of Vimianzo.

Vimianzo is famous for the great quantity of dolmens that have been discovered, being one of the most interesting examples in Baiñas, named “Casa das Mouras”, preserved in very good condition and one of the biggest of Galicia. It’s precisely here where the teams will find the last flag of this stage
