Overview

TRANSPYR GRAN RAID MTB is a major personal challenge and one of the most exciting and memorable mountain bike adventures where one can take part. It challenges you to fulfil a unique mission in which you will immerse yourself in the different valleys, villages and cultures of the Pyrenees, crossing the entire mountain range from sea to sea. A true Mountain Bike Graduate to face at least once in a lifetime.

TRANSPYR GRAN RAID MTB has a mountain bike raid type format with a combination of timed and non-timed sectors in 7 consecutive stages. The timed sectors and non-timed sectors of each stage are decided according to traffic level, terrain profile, possibility of rescue, etc. Therefore the percentage of timed route of each stage may differ.

In this format, participants are subject at all times to the traffic code as the official route is open to motorized traffic and other uses. In addition, they must respect any particular regulation of the spaces and places visited, where they may coincide with pedestrians, other cyclists or riders, and find cattle and animals, being of the utmost importance to respect the priority rights at all times. As well, in this format, the participant is responsible to any authority for compliance with this point and failure to respect them may lead to direct disqualification by the organization. In the timed sectors, the principle that will be applied will be the same as in the Mountain Bike Marathon-type races, that is to say, racer circulation with properly controlled open traffic.
