S5 - Coastering and specific orientation (Walk with sea views)
Section 5 takes us again to a trekking, in this case the longest of the race, with 72 kilometers and that will have three well differentiated parts:
- In the first part the racers will move by using a specific orientation map of the Asturian village of Castropol and they will cross the river Eo's mouth by the side of the highway's bridge, to return back to Galicia.
- In the second part, they will have to complete a beautiful coastering traveling along the "Camino Natural del Cántabrico" path until reach the famous As Catedrais beach, a place of special charm with its characteristic rock formations.
- Finally, in the last part of the section, the teams will go back inland to add more ascent meters to their legs. They will visit also awesome places such as the ruins of the fortress of A Frouseira, in a rocky area on top of a mountain and with stunning views.
Finally we will reach Ferreira de Valadouro, where they will end this long section of trekking.
