IMPORTANT INFORMATION. CHANGES TO SECTION 3 AND EXTRA MATERIAL
Dear participants
We're entering the final stretch for the Bimbache ARWS Morocco Raid 2025!
In recent weeks, Morocco and southwestern Europe have suffered the arrival of several storms from the Atlantic Ocean, both rain and snow. It has been the wettest March in the last 130 years. For this reason, the technical director, Jesús Bermejo, and the team of markers have just completed a complete five-day review of the race routes. They focused their review on high altitudes and riverbeds.
In connection with this review, we are sending you some very important updated information so that you can prepare the final details of your trip and participation.
The rains that have fallen in recent weeks have caused significant changes in the topography of part of the route and a lot of snow accumulation in the high areas of the Atlas Mountains through which Section 3 - Mountain Trekking Canyoning + ropes passes.
In addition, several roads used by the organization's transfers to move bags and bike boxes have suffered landslides, flooding, or mudslides, and several sections are currently closed.
For this reason, although we are confident that everything will return to normal in Morocco in the coming weeks, we must order additional equipment that we hope we won't have to use.
We'll most likely be forced to modify part of section 3, which ran between 3,500 and 4,000 m, but you'll need to bring crampons for a possible passage over a mountain pass at 3,600 meters, which may still have snow. The organizers will equip it with ropes.
If the transfer roads remain closed, we may be forced to carry the bike for a long period of time through a non-cyclable area, which could take between 3 and 4 hours. We therefore recommend that you bring a homemade system or adapt your backpacks to carry the bike for several kilometres. Be prepared.
All the new information about the bonus material and updates is now available on the Raid Bimbache website.
Given this situation, race director Antonio de la Rosa and the technical team will conduct a final check on April 24 and 25 with the aim of maintaining section 3 as planned. We trust that the Moroccan sun will shine as usual and melt the excess snow.
We're sorry about these minor last-minute changes, but you know that you can't fight with Meteo, and it has the final say.
Greetings
